Otra de traducciones absurdas

Ya sabéis de mi afición a comparar las traducciones que nos ofrece Google o cualquier sistema traductor igualmente perverso y jocoso. Hoy he realizado un experimento con uno de mis relatos, originalmente en catalán. La versión inglesa, que ha sido la primera ya ha salido hilarante a más no poder.

Como también sabéis -quienes me hayan seguido y sigan a estas alturas- mi afición por los concursos (¿os acordáis de los de cine?), os planteo un reto: Dar la versión correcta en castellano. En catalán ya existe, es el original. Y ahora no pido toooooda la versión, sino la solución a unos cuantos enigmas que la traducción del bisho ofrece. Al final, propongo los enigmas a solucionar.

How I love Paco!

4. St again that there's nothing... Esta traducción es muy curiosa. Corresponde a una expresión catalana muy concreta. ¿A qué expresión catalana me refiero?

5. That the pension has not been sick to go to concerts even if the chicken or subscribe to posts "coolest" and "cool". ... Hasta este punto ya han salido muchas frases enigmáticas pero si hay una que encuentro divertida es ésta (y se trata de poner sólo 10 preguntitas de nada). ¿Existe tal cosa como una pensión enferma? ¿Y a pesar de su enfermedad, puede asistir a conciertos? El resto es inenarrable pero tratad por favor. ¿Qué pintan unas gallinas aquí?

6. ... that I need to go to each school for testing, controls and all these stories. ¿Por qué se supone que debo (1) ir a CADA escuela para pruebas y ensayos? ¿Qué historias son ésas?

7. What a bunch of gamarusos!  Esta frase sí que ha quedado genial, pero genial. Creo que a partir de ahora voy a utilizarla en mi vocabulario diario.  ¿Qué significa? ¿Qué debería decir?

8. But I am a footballer and my case is of no importance. ¿Yo soy eso que dice? Y si fuera o fuese eso, ¿no tendría importancia?

9. Now I break my dishes by hand ... ¿Por qué han utilizado la preposición by aquí? ¿Cómo traducís la frase?

10. ... and dented pots protester killed me with Indignant. ¿Por qué han puesto Indignant así, con mayúscula? ¿Y que clase de manifestante me mató?

Bis. ... will go well with hot fotimer of mastegots will receive! ¿Significado, por favor?

Y esta ha sido la lección de inglishpikinglish por hoy. Para el próximo día se traen estudiado el mapa, que hablaremos de los pueblos indios, nativos americanos, también al más puro estilo Google.

(1) La primera persona que utilizo incluso en preguntas, ni caso. Es para no poner "la protagonista tal y cual". La protagonista NO SOY YO. Así que no hace falta que me feliciteis por mi próximo matrimonio, como han hecho algunas personas al leerlo,  porque no hay tal. Y tampoco existe el tal Paco. Un señor que padezca de todos esos problemas, eso posiblemente sí.

Digamos aquello de que "Los personajes y hechos aquí relatados son ficticios. Cualquier coincidencia es pura casualidad".

Una de esas traducciones tan floridas

No, no puedo ni quiero resistirme a recoger esta exhibición de las excelencias del traductor automático de Google. Puede que sea para llorar pero a mí me produce la malsana alegría de contemplar el excelente funcionamiento del diseño y la programación de las máquinas con las que nos ha tocado convivir.

Diálogo del balcón entre Romeo y Julieta:

- Julieta..  ¡Es casi la mañana, yo te he ido-

Y sin embargo, no más lejos que un ave wan-ton,

Que permite saltar un poco de su mano,

Al igual que un pobre prisionero en su grilletes trenzado,

Y con un hilo de seda que arranca de nuevo,

Así que el amor-celoso de su libertad.

- Romeo: Yo yo tu pájaro.

- Julieta: Dulce, por lo que sería,

Sin embargo, debo matar a ti con mucha estimación.

O sea, que la buena de Julieta resulta ser una experta zoóloga especializada, por lo que se ve, en aves chinas (wan-ton, que no sé si son aves; yo sólo conozco unos frutos de la sartén por ese nombre) y, además, una asesina piadosa que mata a su amado con mucha estimación.

¡Pues vaya con la moza! Presenta un perfil digno de los cerebrines de "Mentes criminales".

The most distant known galaxy to host a supermassive black hole has been discovered in a galaxy that formed in the early history of the universe.

The galaxy, as large as the Milky Way, is about 12.8 billion light-years away and harbors a supermassive black hole that contains at least a billion times as much matter as our sun. Estaba yo buscando información sobre galaxias, distancias, años luz y otras tonterías por el estilo para documentarme para mi último micro-relato de ciencia-ficción cuando me tropiezo con esta joya.

Nuestro querido y omnipresente buscador, bien conocido por todos, que nos suministra hasta visiones de satélite de nuestra calle y nuestros vecinos, ha decidido traducir sin yo pedírselo la página que estaba en inglés.

Y las neuronas de la risa se han alborotado al momento: ¿Cómo? ¿galaxia más cercana con el AGUJERO NEGRO DESCUBIERTO?

Una fuerza superior a mi voluntad, o no, ha provocado que copiase la traducción para compartir unas risas con los lectores como en otras ocasiones. No contaba yo que habría un dispositivo que al copiar me incluyera también el texto en inglés.

Pues magnífico. Así podemos comparar y comprender una información que en castellano resulta absurda y, peor todavía, plagada de errores, algunos incomprensibles.

Porque a pesar de que en el original siempre figuran los años expresados en "billion years" ya sea años luz o años "normales", el traductor salta caprichosamente entre varias opciones:

1. 12,8 MILLONES de años-luz.

2. "un billón de veces" la cantidad de materia que...

3. 13,7 mil millones de años...

4. 12,5 mil millones de años-luz...

5. 13 mil millones de años-luz

Recordaremos que los "billion" americanos son miles de millones, mientras que en castellano un billón es un millón de millones. Una minúscula diferencia sin ninguna importancia.

Otro chiste lo provee el nombre del científico de origen japonés que por desgracia tiene como apellido "Goto". La primera vez que lo nombran, el traductor hace de las suyas y lo traduce como "Pasar". En la segunda ocasión "Goto" lo traducen como "Ir a".

Los problemas sufridos con los tiempos verbales, concordancia de géneros y giros absurdos ya lo dejo para quien quiera entretenerse con el juego de descubrir los horrores..., ¡perdón!, ERRORES. Lo único que he hecho es resaltar los peores párrafos en un tono tirando a granate. No queda elegante pero sí resaltón.
